What is Manzano M.E.S.A.?

New Mexico Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (NM MESA), Inc., a non-profit organization, is part of a national initiative promoting educational enrichment for pre-college students from historically under-represented ethinic groups. NM MESA prepares these students for college majors and careers in mathematics, engineering, science, and related fields.

NM MESA is designed to increase the number of under-represented ethnic minorities in the professions related to mathematics, science, and/or engineering. Since a disproportionately small number of African Americans, Native Americans, and Hispanics are represented in these professions, NM MESA programs primarily support the academic achievement of students from these backgrounds. Through NM MESA's efforts, participating students receive the educational enrichment experiences and practical help they need to achieve academic excellence and prepare for college majors in mathematics, engineering and the sciences.
