Events that allow students to raise funds to cover the cost of band expenses

The Band Boosters provide many opportunities for fundraising, both for personal student accounts and for the general booster fund.  Students can earn and bank money to be used towards both the fall and spring trips as well as next year's expenses.  The Band Boosters will be fundraising for various expenses such as uniforms, instrument repair, banquet, and more.  All students are asked to participate in both a fall and a spring fundraising event to help the general booster fund.  Additional fundraising opportunities will be added as they become available.

If you have any ideas for fundraisers or would like to assist, please contact either of the co-vice presidents.

Administrative assistants, better known as the "band moms" or "band parents", are available to accept payments and distribute sales materials Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:10 am through 7:30 am and before football games.  On two-hour delay days, band moms will not be available.  The band moms are Laura Mortimer, Susan Bodette, and Cyndi Payne.

Cookie Dough

Sell boxes of cookie dough for $14.00 each. Cookie dough flavors inlcude Snickernoodle, Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chunk, Oatmeal Raisin, Sugar Cookie, Peanut Butter, m&m, Chocolate Chip Mint, Double Chocolate, Lemon Cooler, Peanut Butter Cup, and White Chunk Macadamia Nut.

Orders are due by Thursday August 7th. Orders can be picked up on or before August 20th.

40% of the cookie dough revenue will go to the student's account..

Pageant of Bands

This is your most profitable fundraiser!  Sell ads for the 2008 Pageant of Bands Program Book.  Sample Program Books and ad sales forms are available in the band parent room.  Sales information is also included in the summer band camp packet mailed to each student.

All sold ads and money must be turned in by September 5, 2008.

Albertsons

The Albertsons Preferred Savings Card program has been discontinued. Details about the replacement card for Manzano Band will be posted when available.

When the new cards are available, e-mail Sue Woodling at dswoodling@msn.com to find out how to get the a card.  Please include your name, a telephone number, and the best time to call you.

A percentage of purchases made at Albertsons with the Preferred Savings Card is provided to the designated school organization.

Melaleuca

One of our former band parents is a Melaleuca representative.  View items on line at www.melaleuca.com but order through BJ Smith at 296-1908 in order for the band to receive a percentage.  Be sure to mention you are with Manzano Band.  Catalogs will be available at the band booster meeting.

The band will receive a percentage of any sales made through BJ Smith.

Smith's
Earn & Learn Program

Sign up for a Smith's Fresh Savings Card and select Manzano Band as your designated school organization.

New and existing cardholders, please e-mail your name, card number, and a telephone number where you can be reached to:  dswoodling@msn.com

A percentage of purchases made at Smith's with the Fresh Savings Card is provided to the designated school organization.

Stadium/Pit Cleaning

Students and willing band boosters clean the UNM Pit or a section of the UNM Stadium after an event.  Students are expected to participate once in the fall and once in the spring.  A choice of two cleaning dates are available each semester.

The band will receive the funds earned from this event.

Tricordia

Support your favorite non-profit organization, Manzano High School Bands, by shopping at participating merchants!  Click here to read the program introduction letter.

The band will receive a percentage of every dollar you spend with participating merchants. Now applies to on-line purchases only.

Applebee's

Have dinner at Applebee's restaurant on the third Thursday of the month (2007 - 9/20, 10/18, 11/15; 2008 - 1/17, 2/21, 3/20, 4/17).  Present the Manzano band coupon with your bill.  Click here for this month's coupon.

The band will receive a percentage of purchases made with the coupon.

Avon

Sell products from the Avon catalog.  Pick up a catalog, order forms, and instructions from the band moms or just outside their room.

40% of Avon product sold and 20% of non-Avon product (marked with a diamond symbol) sold goes to the student account.  There is a $0.75 Order Processing Charge for each customer order.  All orders must be pre-paid.

Books

Order forms are currently available from the Band Moms to pre-sell Entertainment books.  Entertainment books for the Albuquerque/Santa Fe area sell for $35 each and easily pay for themselves.  Out-of-town books are also available.  Sell 5 and get one free!

After using the book's coupons for a couple of dinners, activities, or services (such as band uniform cleaning), you will have easily saved the $35 cost.

Earnings applied to the student account depend on total number of books sold.  For every 5th book a student sells, the student receives one free book.

For each FULL box sold, at least $7 goes to the student account and about $2 goes to the general band fund.

Tupperware

Continue to sell products from the Tupperware catalog throughout the year.  Pick up a current catalog, order forms, and instructions from the band moms.  Products will be delivered to the band about two weeks after the order is submitted.
