State Swimmers Bring Monarch Girls to Seventh Overall!
Finals of the 2007 State meet proved to be quite exciting.

Individual Races
- Junior Marissa Campbell broke a state record in the 100 Fly with a time of 56.90. --Way to go, Marissa!
- Marissa also took the blue in the 100 Back with a 57.34.
- Senior Taylor Busby, our only individual swimmer on the boys side, made a great showing for Manzano taking 1st in the 200 IM with a time of 1:57.78.
- Taylor also placed 6th in the 100 Free with a time of 48.94.
- Freshman Sanne vanSwol finished 8th in the 100 Fly with a time of 1:03.86.
- Sanne also finished 10th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:22.16.
- Senior Tiva North placed 16th in the 200 Free with a time of 2:11.70.
Relays
Our girls relay teams scored well, too!
- 200 Medley Relay took a 2nd with a time of 1:55.41
- Marissa Campbell (JR); Hannah Mercier (SO); Sanne vanSwol (FR); Tiva North (SR)
- 400 Free finished with a 4th place medal in a time of 3:50.51
- Tiva North (SR); Sanne vanSwol (FR); Hannah Mercier (SO); Marissa Campbell (JR)
Boys
- 200 Medley Relay boys team placed 16 with a time of 1:53.22.
- Taylor Busby (SR); Kevin Wright (JR); Matt Jackson (SR); Sean Albarran (SO)
Divers
- Sophomore Ruthann Tibbetts took 11th with a final score of 230.50
- Senior Lauren Jaramillo pulled in 13th with a score of 220.20.
Congratulations to our swimmers and divers who have qualified for the 2007 New Mexico Athletic Association State Swimming and Diving Championships. The event was held at Albuquerque Academy Natatorium (Google Map), February 16-17, 2007.
