About Us

The Family Center and Monty's Closet are here to meet the needs of Monarch students and their families. Through Title I funding, the Manzano Family Center and Monty's Closet provides a welcoming place for Manzano High School families to visit.

At the Family Center, current students and families have access to:

  • Computers and printers (available 7am-3:30pm)
  • School supplies and snacks
  • Monarch Moments - Students and families are always invited to these events located at MHS Family Center or in conjunction with the Community School Coordinator's [Jerry Duran] events, located in various areas at MHS
  • Monty's Closet - An on-campus clothing bank where students and families may select clothing to suit their needs

We welcome the opportunity to serve Monarch students and their families.  We're located in D-11 and D-12. Stop by--we'd love to meet you!

Want to apply for a free summer program?

The program, for rising 10-12 grade students, gives students an opportunity to learn the nuts and bolts of community philanthropy and nonprofit organizations and includes a mix of site visits and meetings with community leaders.

At the end of the program, students come together as a mock foundation to make decisions about how to support some of the nonprofits they studied, both financially and through volunteer work.

There's more information and a link to the application here:

The application deadline on Friday, April 27, at midnight.
