More Activities

Mentorships lead to internships which lead to summer job opportunities and those are scheduled on a individual basis depending on what the student is interested in.

Hands on and community service projects will be developed by teachers in the academy. Our plans are to include a disaster drill in coordination with APD, AFD, Lifeguard, Biohazard team, (maybe even Homeland defense). These fun and exciting drills will be in coordination with other MHS departments (such as performing arts) with students acting as the “victims." This is a great opportunity for MHOA to recruitment younger students from middle schools able to watch and learn from the “gallery.” Students will be the first responders and some will also be on a panel to plan and execute the event.

We are also hoping to have study hall seminars in which the students will be able to listen to a lecture from a professional regarding the duties, education, pay, workplace, etc. of the professional and then have time to ask questions.
