Higher Education
In the Manzano High School Health Occupations Academy we plan for students to experience possible career choices while building the framework of knowledge they will need to succeed in life. The Health Occupations Academy is designed to help students make the transitions from middle school to high school, then from high school to college, with confidence and greater ease through goal setting and real life experiences. Our goal is to prepare our students for the rigors of college. We aim to give our students the tools to succeed in high school, college, and the students’ chosen careers.
Transitioning from High School to College
We will help students along the way trough counseling on when and what college entrance exams to take. We will also help students through the college applications process and scholarship application. Certain classes will be assist students through this process as a class unit.
By helping students through every step, we hope to break down the barriers of uncertainty that keep students from choosing to further their academic career. By providing hands-on connections to work site professionals and work-based learning experiences all related to the medical community we will create a smaller more meaningful learning community here at Manzano High School.
