Vision

Every student graduates fully prepared with employability skills and post-secondary goals, as well as an individualized plan for achieving those goals.

Mission

Manzano High School creates a community based learning opportunity in our Health Occupations Academy, designed to provide practical applications for student learning that aligns with individual, post secondary goals by:

  • Creating a smaller learning community that fosters partnerships between the school and professionals from all disciplines who work in medical setting so we can maximize student options yet retain a smaller, more personalized network of participants.
  • Providing and interdisciplinary introduction to the many and varied careers that interface with the medical community.
  • Emphasizing the highest standards for student performance in all subject areas, in order to provide for maximum opportunities for success after high school.
  • Encouraging participation in mentorships, internships and community service projects with partners in medical settings, as well as concurrent enrollment at local colleges.
  • Requiring student mapping of courses and community based activities so that logical articulation of coursework can successfully lead students to competence in the skills and standards needed for employment after high school.
