The Manzano High School Choral Program seeks to promote vocal music and positivity in our school community and beyond through performance. The MHS Orchestra is one of the top in the state. It rehearses daily, goes on trips, works with professionals, does at least 4 concerts a year and has a lot of fun!  (Prior orchestral string playing experience required)!

The Club promotes a community attitude of outdoor activity as a life-long pursuit. We go hiking almost every week and have all the gear we need to go climbing, snow-shoeing, camping, and backpacking. We try to have a camping trip each semester and in the spring the camping trip will include other activities like backpacking or rafting. Any student can join us!! All you need is an interest - no experience is necessary and no special gear is required. Come to our meetings at lunch to learn more.

National Honor Society is an organization designed to recognize and foster academic achievement, leadership, service, and character.  Students apply and are selected for membership each spring.  Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 for 3 semesters in order to be eligible to apply for membership.  Members of the National Honor Society spend much of their time in service to the school and community.

Peer Sponsors 21 schools have one (or two) adult sponsors who are trained in suicide prevention, positive youth development, and peer-helping skills. Students at the 21 APS sites nominate other students who they see as honest, trustworthy, and caring. The nominated students are invited to join the APS Peer Helpers Program, which is adapted from the NM Youth Peer to Peer Helper program (NM YP2PH), and the Natural Helper program. It is based on the premise that when young people have problems, they most often turn to friends for help, and within every school, an informal “helping network” exists.

We do community service on and off campus, and strive to continue to learn Spanish by attending various cultural events in Albuquerque. Sports Medicine is a club designed to promote medical occupations through hands on activities. We will bring in medical professionals as guest speakers to further the students' educational background in the medical field. 
Students will participate as student athletic trainers at Manzano HS sporting events throughout the school year. 
Participation in the sports medicine class is strongly advised.  Educational meetings will be composed of working on learning new skills, etc.

Ted club strives to give students practical experience in public speaking, as well as guide them as they construct a captivating, informative talk. This club utilizes the resources provided by TED, including their 12 step plan as a means to help students produce their final product.

Garden club is an academic insight into the world of horticulture and efficient farming.  This club aims to help students understand the global impacts of farming, teach them sustainable practices, and give them hands on experiences in a variety of plant related activities.  Additionally, the club involves finding innovative solutions to farming through the use of engineering.

The organization is designed for students, as well as all members of the Manzano community to offer support for the mentally ill.  Any student or teacher with ADD, ADHD, Bi-Polar, Schizophrenia, Depression, eating disorders, etc., and any students interested in supporting other students with mental illness will meet once a week in K227 to discuss school related issues. The alliance will work with parents, to offer each other support, discuss coping and learning tools, and create a safety net. The alliance will also work towards creating mental health awareness. There will be fun activities to members  relax and interact with peers in a healthy environment.
